Update 2.4.1 (we skipped a few?)


Howdy again. I had to take some time away to deal with life-related stuff. Work has resumed, though.


Floating islands, airship structure, and some new furniture tiles. I've still got to implement the items for these, so they're currently not obtainable. I'll probably do this tomorrow. The wiring mechanic has been partially implemented, but none of it is craftable yet. 

The islands generate with clouds, sky grass, and pine trees (the big ones aren't finished yet). Pine planks, walls, and leaves have also been added.

I've added a nicer transition between day and night.

Here you can see the new biome backgrounds. The forest and desert currently have placeholder background textures, mostly to get a feel for it. These textures will be changed.

Added moss-covered stone, which has a couple of variants.


Full Update List:

  • Added wires, switches, and toggle blocks (if powered, will swap between being solid and non-solid).
  • TNT can be detonated by powering with wire. Bombs and electricity also detonate TNT.
  • Added green and yellow mossy stone. I'll probably add some more variants later
  • Added bow and arrow items.
  • Flintlock now consumes bullets. (Added bullets. Several variations exist, but have no functionality yet)
  • Completely redesigned the game's menu. (Yes, I did it again) It now strictly uses the keyboard. (Why? I'm lazy, and wanted less work. Also it makes implementing controller support quite easy.)
  • Added biome backgrounds. Currently only forest and desert have backgrounds, and these textures are going to be changed.
  • New system for sky color. You'll see sunset and sunrise. I think this looks much better.
  • Added the "Tortured" enemy. Will explode after being touched, and wanders around aimlessly.
  • Added a lightning gun, called the "Nimdoc". This is a first of hopefully many interesting and fun weapons i'd like to add.
  • Added the settile command to the console.
  • Added a burning effect to entities. This is currently quite glitchy, and apparently sometimes causes crashes.
  • Added the alpine biome, along with pine trees, pine planks, walls, and leaves.
  • Added floating islands, covered in sky grass, and dotted with pine trees.
  • Airship dungeons added. Generate rarely in the sky.
  • Added credits menu
  • Fixed a shitton of glitches. Still more to go. :(
  • Added cobwebs.
  • Bumpy noticed certain characters put into the world name box would crash the game. Fixed this by sanitizing the string.
  • Tweaked a massive amount of different values in an attempt to polish up various aspects. The game should generally feel a bit slicker now.
  • Added some more furniture tiles. I haven't yet made the items for these, so they can't be obtained yet. Their textures aren't final either.

If the content in this update feels half-baked, it really is. I felt it had been too long since an update, and decided to show off some progress any way. Expect another update in a few days.
