0.7 Update - Biomes, Backgrounds.


Hey there! Here's what's new in today's update:

  • Revamped the underground structure.
    • This is a test for some tools i've started work on, with the goal of allowing me to create larger and more interesting structures in the game world.
    • Underground houses now generate with loot.
  • Added background "walls".
    • Some will generate in the world
    • A handful can be crafted from their respective tiles.
    • Can be removed via the "Wall Scraper" tool.
    • Torches can be placed on walls.
  • Added biome variation.
    • Mountainous Terrain - Rocky, and varied in height.
    • Forests/Plains - Rolling hills, sometimes with groves of trees.
    • Deserts - Sandy, barren wastelands
  • Added Sandstone
  • Badguys can now spawn in the world, in caves and during night.
  • Entities now reflect the light level of the tile they occupy.
    • This means you can't see enemies in a dark cave anymore.
  • Any saved world from 0.6 is not compatible with 0.7, and will not be loaded.
    • I will likely implement a way to upgrade worlds from previous versions. But this is certainly not soon to be.
